About You
As a visitor to Cahoe’s World, you will feel like a frog that voluntarily waded into a cauldron of liquid absurdity even though I already told you about my plan to boil you to death for my own amusement. And don’t forget I never promised I would do it slowly.
Visitors will also notice that terrestrial laws of physics, logic, and etiquette do not apply uniformly in Cahoe’s World. For example, gravity is stronger here than on Earth. And the base physical substrate underpinning this reality — liquid absurdity — is viscous, non-Newtonian, and (at standard atmospheric conditions) lacking in the predictable endothermic transfer properties of chilly creek muck from which it has been engineered by me to be virtually indistinguishable.
Hopping away may not be so easy as you think.
But rest assured, when you manage to wriggle out of the cauldron you’ll find a whimsical landing pad waiting for you: a freshly frosted cupcake on a waxy paper plate. Just imagine the feeling of relief that awaits when your blanched amphibian digits sink softly into the chilled buttercream icing. As you scamper off to your escape pod, I’ll hand you the polaroid I snapped when you landed on the cupcake. That photo, along with the frog-sized birthday hat you didn’t know you were wearing, are yours to take home.
I just turned up the heat. Did you notice?
Meanwhile, the clay mold you thought was a cupcake should be nearly dried and ready for packaging and shipment to museums and ecological institutes on Earth, all of which are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the exceptionally rare and perfectly preserved fossilized baby velociraptor footprints they purchased in bulk from my LLC.
Thus the bargain with readers is plain: you’ll feel like you were in on it the whole time.
Why Visit?
There is a lot I want out of Cahoe’s World for myself and for visitors. Instead of itemizing these aspirations, I’ll just see how things go and double-down where readers find value. But the menu of topics I’ll cover is vast.
The author’s promise: At some point something you are interested in will be served hot. The dishes I’m cooking up will be unfamiliar to your tastebuds and contain unique flavor profiles mixing technology, pop culture, history, and contemporary affairs. The secret umami ingredient is my belief that essentially all things are connected.
I’m convinced that 80’s horror films, Taoism, medieval history, Russian literature, and British royal family scandals can be used to illustrate points about technology. And that semiconductors, synthetic aperture radar, fractals, quantum physics, and CRISPR can be used to explore deeper human truths.
It’s OK if you don’t see obvious connections between these subjects, because I do and that’s why I’m the blogger.
About Me
People who know me say that I write like I talk. I know no other ways of writing or talking and that means all writing is deeply personal for me.
That’s enough explaining for now; it’s time for you to experience this new world of curiosities for yourself.
